How Solar Rental Works

Going solar with Sunlarus is simple—you’re essentially trading your electric bill for a lower, fixed monthly rental fee. Instead of paying the utility, you pay Sunlarus about half of what you currently spend, and we handle everything else. We install the system, maintain it, monitor its performance, and repair or replace anything that’s ever needed. There are no costs, no long-term surprises, and no responsibility on your part. You get reliable solar power, predictable savings, and total peace of mind—while keeping more money in your pocket each month.

Solar Rental Means Flexibility

Converting to solar has always meant a decades-long commitment, either on a 15-to-25 year lease to a solar provider or a loan to a bank. Sunlarus' solar rental program provides a flexible alternative to financing or leasing that is designed to suit your needs. With no upfront costs and a minimum rental term of only one year, going solar with Sunlarus is a risk-free opportunity that doesn't tie you down to your home or business for years. Because Sunlarus owns the solar system we take care of all monitoring and maintenance, and if your solar system breaks we'll repair it ourselves and compensate you for any shortages that occur.

The Initial Process

When you inquire with Sunlarus about going to solar, we'll connect you with with our team to design a custom solar setup tailored to your home or business' needs. Our experts will review your energy expenditure over the past year to determine the size of solar system you require. They will then conduct a thorough property assessment to design an optimal and minimally obtrusive solar system that best suits your property, including panels and associated hardware.

Once your solar system is designed, installation is seamless! Our certified technicians will secure the required permits, coordinate with your utility company, and install your complete solar system at zero cost to you. Installation typically takes one to two days once permits are obtained, and when complete you can activate your system and start enjoying your savings.

Net Metering—How You Save Over the Year

The amount of electricity you use and the amount of electricity your solar generates will often not match up. On sunny days your solar may produce more electricity than your home needs, while on cloudy days you might use more energy than your system provides. Additionally, in peak summer and winter months your A/C or heater might consume more energy than your solar system produces, while lower heating or cooling needs in spring and fall can result in energy surpluses.

With Net Metering, when your solar panels produce more electricity than your home needs (like during the day while you are at work), that excess power will flow back to the grid. Your utility meter will measure the amount of energy you send back, and your utility provider will either subtract the difference from your monthly power bill or give you a credit for future power usage.

In short, net metering allows you to receive the savings of every kilowatt-hour of energy your solar panels produce, even at times when your system produces more than you consume.
